Welcome to Kiswa London, an Islamic thobe brand inspired by the rich history and culture of the Muslim world. Our name, Kiswa, derives from the Arabic word for 'covering', and is deeply linked to the sacred site of the Kaaba in Makkah. For centuries, the Kaaba has been covered with a special cloth, also called Kiswa, that is changed annually during the Hajj pilgrimage. This tradition dates back to the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who ordered that the Kaaba be covered with a cloth made of Yemeni fabric. Over the years, the Kiswa has been made from various materials, including silk, cotton, and velvet, and has featured intricate designs and calligraphy.
